Samsung Galaxy S III (19300 ) - Officially Gorgeous!

So the months of wondering and speculation are officially over. It's time to take a bite of the brand new Samsung Galaxy S III, and boy is it tasty! In fact it's more than just tasty, it's a completely beautiful Android recipe.

The real, official Samsung Galaxy S III.

Phew, I think I need a lie down now, it's been as draining as running a mental marathon. All of the 'is it' and 'isn't it' rumours, from various sources over recent months have left some of us with very little steam for the actual event and the very real news! So take a rest, have a cup of tea, and then feast your eyes on the actual facts.

As you can see from the very official image above, the tangible reality is that, unlike previous images suggested, Samsung Galaxy S III has curves! Gone are the previous strict angles Galaxy adopted and in comes a phone that oozes sexiness from every angle. Although after all these months it's no less than we expected; pure arm candy, Android style! May 3rd was a day that made Apple look positively rotten.

Samsung Specs to Love

I think that I've gushed enough now, so lets get down to the nitty gritty, the real interesting part, the specifications of this magnificent beast. Where to start folks? Okay, so it's got a very large 4.8 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 to protect against unwanted scratches. Screen resolution is as good as any other high-end Android phone you care to compare to, at 720 x 1280 pixels. For a phone of such size, it's rather slinky and lightweight too, with a depth of 8.6 mm and a weight of just 133 grams.

As lots of people predicted, it does indeed have a quad-core processor at the heart of it, along with a 2100 mAh battery. Lets just hope that you can get a fair bit of mileage on a full battery charge, as it would be a shame for S III to fall short in this respect.

Storage comes in at either 16, 32 or 64 GB, each with 1 GB RAM. You can bump the memory by up to a further 64 GB, via a microSD card. That means that your Samsung Galaxy S III could house up to 128 GB of memories, from photo's, videos, to music and movies, not to mention a whole appstore of apps. It would be hard to imagine needing any more than that, under any normal human circumstances.

There is a 8 MP rear camera to make a few of those precious memories, and a 1.9 MP front facing snapper, plus [email protected] video. Then of course there is NFC technology on board for the ride, so contactless payment is literally in your hands.

It's the Whole Package

Not only does Samsung Galaxy S III look the part and have killer specs, it's intelligent too, which is often hard to find, brains and beauty in one place.

S Voice - Just like Apple, Samsung have added a healthy dose of voice control, meaning that you can take a photo, answer or reject a call, turn music volume up or down, snooze or turn off your alarm amongst many other things, just by speaking a command. It will be almost as though your phone has a real personality.

Direct Call - We all know the score. We start to send a message when we realise that what we have to say actually deserves a phone call. Samsung Galaxy S III will intuitively realise this if you lift the handset to your hear, and dial the number for you. Just how cool is that? Really?

Social Tag allows you to link photos of friends with their media stream, so that every time you view the picture you'll always be up-to-date with their current status. Nice!

It's good to share, with S Beam, and easy too. From documents, pictures, music, in fact almost anything, simply tap your phone against the recipients and the job is done. AllShare Play allows you to access media on any device via DNLA and WiFi Direct, so it's no bother if you have to leave you laptop behind as you take the daily commute, just carry on from where you left off on your Samsung Galaxy S III.

The genius of Samsung Galaxy S III stretches as far as the eye can see. Now I just need to raise the capital (unknown at this time, but may need a mortgage!) to own this baby as soon as I can after it's released sometime later this month!
