You may remember, back in January, Huawei showcased its future phones at CES, Las Vegas. One of those handsets was Huawei Ascend P1, a slim and ultra stylish mid-range Android phone. The good news is that we haven't got long to wait here in the UK, before it's available. However, there's still no news of its even slimmer twin Huawei Ascend P1 S.

Huawei Ascend P1, Android phone.

Huawei are currently working on a world offensive to get their own-brand Android smartphones in the running, and from what we can see, they're doing a fine job. Not only have they just released a very respectable entry-level Android phone, Ascend G 300, into the UK, which is exclusive to Vodafone customers, with a remarkable price tag of just £100 for a pay as you go handset, they also have a set of quad-core Android phones in the pipeline too.

Huawei Ascend P1 is one of the worlds slimmest Android phones, with a minuscule waist measuring just 7.7 mm in depth. It has a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, protected from scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass, with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.

The power is supplied via a dual-core 1.5 GHz Cortext-A9 processor and an 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery. Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will come pre-installed and there's an 8 MP rear facing camera, a 1.3 MP front facing camera and HD video recording at 1080p.

Launch Dates & Pricing

Huawei Ascend P1 has just launched in China, its country of origin, and has already sold out, receiving more than 100,000 pre-orders.

Ascend P1 will launch in May in Australia, Tawian and Hong Kong. Latin America will be able to get their hands on this little stunner around June and Europe (including the UK) will be next in line, somewhere around June.

There is still no definite price, but judging by Huawei's other price structures, such as for Ascend G 300, it will be more than affordable.
