Motorola Atrix 2 Versus Motorola Atrix

Motorola Atrix was supposed to be one of the most powerful Android phones available in 2011. Motorola went further than that and claimed that is was actually the world's most powerful Android smartphone and ran TV adverts saying exactly that. However, Trading Standards put a stop to Motorola's claims after complaints from furious Samsung owners. Nevertheless they soon got busy on Motorola Atrix 2, also known as Motorola Edison.

Motorola Atrix number 1 was indeed impressive, with the worlds first biometric fingerprint scanner in the mix. Unusually therefore, unlike other second edition phones, Motorola Atrix 2 has been downgraded, at least where price is concerned. Not what you would expect!

Motorola Atrix 2, Android phone.

Although there are a few new features and improved specs. The screen has an extra 0.3 inches added, making it 4.3 inches, although the resolution of 540 x 960 pixels remains the same on both Atrix models. The camera has upgraded from 5 MP to 8 MP, and both have a 1 GHz dual-core processor.

On the other hand, the Li-Ion battery has decreased from 1930 mAh to a lesser 1785 mAh, and Motorola Atrix 2 has feasted a little more than its older sibling, adding an extra 12 grams to its weight of 147 grams, although it has a smaller depth of 10 mm, compared to the original Atrix's 11 mm. There is a distinct lack of other high tech extras such as NFC, so really it comes down to whether the price is right.

Motorola Atrix 2 does come with its usual knick-knacks such as ZumoCast, an app which allows remote access to all of your media/documents, straight from your PC to your device.

UK Release Date and Price

Motorola Atrix 1 can now be picked up for as little as £253.95, down from £499.99. As far as Motorola Atrix 2 goes there is still no news concerning a UK release date, or even if there will be one at all. Obviously, there is also no word on a UK price. However, it is about to be released in the United Arab Emirates. Obviously, there is also no word on a UK price, but expect it to be reasonable.
