Amazon Kindle Android Tablet this Autumn?

According to TechCrunch writer MG Siegler Amazon are on the verge of further fusing with the android revolution around November this year. An Amazon Kindle android tablet is apparently in its last stages of production, with software tweaks being the finishing touch they're currently working on. MG Siegler claims to have had 'hands on' time with the 7 inch device, a DVT (Design Verification Testing) unit version.

At this stage there are no official photos of the Amazon Kindle android tablet, but apparently the design is very much along the lines of the BlackBerry PlayBook. Amazon's android tablet will apparently sport a full colour capacative touch screen, unlike Amazon's original e-ink Kindle, and have only a rumoured 6 GB of internal storage as it will be primarily a cloud based device... but no camera! All of this and more will be available for around $250, a snippet of the asking price for an Apple iPad.

Amazon Android Tablet?

The question is, will Amazon's very own android tablet be available in the UK? It would be insane if it wasn't of course, as a huge customer base would be void and therefore profit would be severely compromised. The buzz is that there won't be a sniff of Google Android Apps on this device and Google Android Market will be unheard of. Amazon's own Appstore will be the main player here. So where does this leave the UK, with no word as to when's Appstore will be launching, if at all?

Will we see a version that conflicts with the very principle Amazon are leaning towards; an Amazon Kindle android tablet that consists of Google Android Market and apps, seen as we haven't got proper access to Amazon Appstore here in the UK as of yet? Certainly an interesting slant on the whole Appstore saga.

The conclusion to this Amazon riddle remains to be seen.

Amazon Android Kindle, since it doesn't use e-ink technology it sounds to me like they are just going to re-hash a cheap android tablet and call it a color kindle, we will have to wait and see though.
